Ride a trolley from Åseda
Cycling a trolley through deep forests
Åseda is the southern terminus of the railway and is located 50 kilometres north of Växjö. As an old railway junction, trains have run here towards Nässjö, Växjö, Västervik and Kalmar. Today only narrow gauge kvar.
The clothes are delivered at Åseda railway station, by the red curve of the narrow-gauge track next to the car park. The station is located in the centre of Åseda, close to cafés, shops and restaurants.
The ride from Åseda starts with a climb for the first half mile, where you also pass the highest point of the railway, near the Sissehult stop.
From here it is pine forest and changing landscape with meadows, before you arrive at the small community of Hultanäs. The station has been restored in recent years with a waiting room, ticket office etc, after 50 years in private ownership.
In Hultanäs there is also a nice Antique shop and Second Hand, take the opportunity to bargain or have a cooling ice cream, before the upcoming stretch to Triabo. Triabo is 15 kilometres from Åseda and is halfway to Virserum. Here there is a playground, rest area and is the point most people choose to cycle to.
The last part from Triabo to Virserum the landscape changes into more spruce forest and you pass several lakes before finally pedalling into Virserum.
Opening hours

A few words from previous visitors:
Two well-preserved stations where the station area in Virserum with its old Pressbyrån kiosk stands out. It was also fun to see the old functional level crossing in Triabo.
No problems renting a trolley in the off-season. Good service.
Mr Christer Nytén
Very beautiful and fun for the whole family.
