Föreningen Smalspåret Växjö-Västervik convenes its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 5 May 2012 at 13.00 in the waiting room of the station building in Virserum. Agenda according to the statutes. At 12 noon a simple lunch will be served in the restaurant car (please register in advance to [email protected]). After the AGM there will be a pleasant get-together with information. Then Smalspåret i Hultsfred AB holds its annual general meeting at 15.

Uppvidinge municipality has built a new pedestrian and cycle path at this road, in Åseda community. Smalspåret i Hultsfred AB has built the crossing itself on behalf of the municipality and anticipated the future extension of the road protection system with cable pipes under the new road. The Signalling Department has been busy refurbishing and commissioning the road safety barrier in Triabo with its cable-driven steel tube barriers. The railway crossing in Triabo has been renovated and commissioned during the autumn. The work included cabling, lubrication and refreshment of the wires that control the boom folding as well as painting and replacement of reflectors etc.

During the coming week (15-25 April) there is a spring work week on the southern part of Smalspåret. The work is based on the Association's premises in Virserum and everyone interested is welcome.
