The refurbishment of the "MDR127p 3418" motor-drainer

Motordressin 3418 nyrenoverad, Stefan Nilsson till vänster har genomfört arbetetIn Hultanäs, between Åseda and Virserum (on the southern part of the Smalspåret), Stefan Nilsson, who is a member of the association, has during the winter and spring put a lot of work into renovating a motorised trolley. Trains of this type were used by the railway workers to transport themselves and tools to various jobs along the track.

"The hardest part of the renovation has been getting rusty brake parts and brake hoses out. The most fun was working with the electricity and learning how to renovate motorised trains.", says Stefan while showing off the interior of the dresser which has also been overhauled with everything from new electrical cables to a couple of coats of paint.

The motorised train stood for up to 15-20 years before the renovation was done and it is a pleasure to see it rolling on the Narrow Gauge again, which you notice that Stefan agrees with when he shows the motorised train.

Keep an eye out along the track for the trolley, which will roll on the track around Virserum-Åseda in the future.
