The association Smalsp\u00e5ret V\u00e4xj\u00f6-V\u00e4stervik will start a project in Virserum to increase interest among young people in maintaining railway vehicles and learning the technology of older times. Last year, the association submitted an application to the Swedish Inheritance Fund to start a project on this and just before Christmas came the gratifying news that the Swedish Inheritance Fund had granted a grant of just over SEK 1.4 million.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The association will acquire a workshop property in Virserum and adapt it to function as a railway workshop. The property in question is located at Bonaregatan 3 in Virserum and the current business will move out in the spring. In May, the association will take over the premises and then a three-year project will begin to adapt the premises to function for the maintenance of railway vehicles.<\/p>\n

Even if the Swedish Inheritance Fund supports the project with a substantial sum, the association will need to invest both its own capital and a lot of voluntary work to be able to realise this. We are therefore more than grateful for all the help we can get.<\/p>\n

It is our hope that the project will benefit both the association and the community.
